Messanges village has a good restaurant, café and the beach is ideal for surfers and windsurfing. Nearby is the lake at Léon which is excellent for children. Further to the south is Biarritz, known for its casino and beaches and Saint Jean-de-Luz harbour.
For an alternative day out, Spain is easily accessible. Parking. (8 x 4m, depth 1.7m, 100 per week Sept-May) with deep steps on one side.
